Duke Energy MLK Day of Service

As part of Duke Energy’s MLK Day of Service, 22 employees showed up at 4 of our pantries to volunteer their time today by sorting food, stocking shelves and packing food for the next time those pantries are open. One of the volunteers was Stan Pinegar, who is the Indiana State President of Duke Energy, who presented the Coalition with a check for $5,000 from the Duke Energy Foundation. A HUGE THANK YOU to all the volunteers for their help and to the Foundation for their continued support!

When pantry directors picked up their share of hygiene products, they were also able to pick up donations from a food drive conducted by The Branches Church in Plainfield during the month of November. This was the second time they’ve had a food drive on our behalf. We GREATLY APPRECIATE their generosity! Included also was food donated at The Coachman and Biggby Coffee in Plainfield as well as additional donations from the friends and neighbors of Andy Waggoner, who conducted his own food drive a couple of weeks ago! THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
